Perfumed, complex nose melds cherry, raspberry, white pepper and spices, all lifted by a floral topnote. Bright, intensely flavored and tightly wound; intense black cherry, red berry, spice and herbal flavors show excellent clarity and penetration. Finishes very firm and very long, with some youthfully tough but even tannins. A vibrant, rather austere Bonnes-Mares with superb structure and grip for the year. May ultimately merit a higher score.
